In our counseling sessions, we offer a nurturing environment where you can openly explore and articulate the complexities of living with chronic pain and illness, navigate the mental and physical challenges, address feelings of isolation, and confront issues such as medical gaslighting, ensuring you never have to face these battles alone. Counseling also offers an opportunity to navigate the psychological toll of chronic illness, addressing feelings of grief, anxiety, and depression that often accompany endometriosis. FAQs about therapy for Endometriosis
-
“Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrial-like) located outside the uterus. These fragments are different structurally, and behave differently, from the normal endometrium which is shed during a period.
This tissue causes pain, infertility, and organ dysfunction due to inflammation, invasion into structures in the body, and scar tissue. Endometriosis impacts approximately 1 in 10 individuals assigned female at birth and is rare in individuals assigned male at birth. Symptoms are often dismissed as “bad cramps” leading to an average 10 year delay in diagnosis.
A chronic condition affecting the reproductive system, endometriosis can cause debilitating pain, frustration, and feelings of isolation. In counseling sessions, we provide a safe space for you to explore and express your emotions surrounding your diagnosis and its impact on your daily life.”

Therapy for Women with PCOS
PCOS, or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, can significantly impact mental health due to its multifaceted nature. Women with PCOS often experience distressing symptoms such as irregular menstrual cycles, infertility concerns, weight fluctuations, and hormonal imbalances. These physical manifestations can lead to heightened levels of stress, anxiety, depression, and negative body image perceptions. The uncertainty surrounding fertility, the challenges of weight management, and the societal stigma associated with PCOS can further exacerbate these emotional struggles.
In counseling, individuals affected by PCOS can find a supportive space to navigate these challenges and address the emotional toll of the condition. Therapy sessions provide an opportunity to explore coping strategies tailored to managing the various aspects of PCOS, from fertility concerns to weight management and menstrual irregularities. Through psychoeducation, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their condition, develop effective self-care practices, and enhance resilience in facing the emotional and physical impacts of PCOS. Counseling empowers individuals to cultivate a sense of agency over their well-being and navigate the complexities of PCOS with greater confidence and self-compassion.
